> About Colorado Springs

You’re beginning to realize your dream of owning a new home in Colorado Springs. Welcome to the neighborhood! You may be surprised to know that Colorado Springs also began as one man’s dream, General William Jackson Palmer, who settled Colorado Springs in 1871.

At an elevation of 6,035 feet, our fine city enjoys over 250 days of sunshine annually. While snow is not uncommon, Colorado Springs is meteorologically classified as an alpine desert, experiencing only 15 to 16 inches of precipitation per year.

Colorado Springs enjoys its reputation as the nation’s military space capital housing the North American Aerospace Defense command and other Space Command centers as well as Fort Carson, Peterson Air Force Base, Cheyenne Mountain Air Force Base, and Schriever Air Force Base.

Home to over 500,000 people, Colorado Springs is also home to Pikes Peak, the Pikes Peak Rodeo and Range Riders, the United States Air Force Academy, the Garden of the Gods, and the Olympic Training Center.

Our community is proud to support higher education with the United States Air Force Academy, Colorado College, the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs, and Pikes Peak Community College.
