Colorado Springs is a wonderful place to live, combining stunning nature and city perks. There’s a train that can take you up, and the new Pikes Peak Summit Visitor Center ensures amazing views, including views of five states when the weather is good. In addition, you’ll enjoy some fun ways to learn more about the history of the mountain and you can take in additional exhibits, visit the gift shops, and enjoy some dining opportunities, including the special high-altitude doughnuts, which sag and melt when you descend down the mountain.

Another fun family outing includes the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, which is home to more than 700 animals. As well as viewing the range of animals, often in country-themed areas within the zoo, there are additional fun activities, animal interactions, and as always, great city views.

Sports enthusiasts will love the US Olympic and Paralympic Training Center, one of the country’s top two campuses where the best athletes train. There are public tours where you can see some of these athletes hard at work, and there’s also a museum that offers a look at the lives of Olympians with art, videos, and artifacts, adding a personal touch. The center is also home to one of the few velodromes in the country, and is the official venue for track cycling and roller sports. Finally, don’t miss the Broadmoor World Arena Ice Hall, the “home ice” for the country’s ice-skating athletes. There’s even a World Figure Skating Museum where you can learn about the international history of this popular sport.
